Over here, we have soft-serve ice cream, like from Dairy Queen, and we have real Ice Cream that is scooped and generally eaten in cones or sundaes, and then we have Frozen Custard that is creamier and I guess it has eggs in it because it is much richer.
Do you have different general varieties of ice cream like that? -------------------- We read to know we are not alone. ~~ C.S. Lewis

We have the two main types that you mention, but I've not heard of frozen custard. Sounds delish!

Is the Dairy Queen franchise/chain over there like McDonald's is?

If it is, it's not very successful. I used to love the very soft ice cream as a kid though my taste is a little more discerning now that I'm 25
Frozen custard though!!!! Only Americans could come up with that. It reminds me of those strange types of popcorn you told me about. I can't remember the flavours now, I must have mentally blocked out the image. -------------------- 'The condition of all human ethics can be summed up in one sentence: We ought to, but we don't.' - Kurt Tucholsky, 1890 - 1935, German philosopher

Ya, right. As if.
Tell me what is wrong with frozen custard! Are you kidding me? It's fantastic! Imagine really really good creamy ice cream, then imagine it more buttery. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm -------------------- We read to know we are not alone. ~~ C.S. Lewis

Yes, despite his claims to the contrary, Doad is not even CLOSE to 25 . . . and I've seen pictures so I know he doesn't look 25 either.
Of course, neither do I. Doad teases me because we were born in the same year, but I was born a few months earlier in the year, making me MUCH older. Hah! -------------------- We read to know we are not alone. ~~ C.S. Lewis

Back to ice cream, Caterwauller you said earlier about dairy cream icecream, personally I have never heard of them, but the largest soft icecream brand here is mr. Whippey, oh and is it traditional over there to have a flake and strawberry sauce on your soft ice creams like it is here.
