I want to get the troops home as soon as we can. You can quote me on this and whatever I say because I stand behind what I say.

I have said this many times, but there is something that still needs to be finished. They are not two different things. And that is what you do not get. We need to defeat the terrorists and then get out. That has been my postition, and it will always be my postition.

This is not about how well I can spell, or read, this is about our policies on Iraq. And the fact is that you have little support if any for your plans in Iraq.

I can read just as good as you can, but I would love to talk to you about my classes that I should take when I do go back to school however.

Senator,

Do not tell me what I do or do not support. I do not recall who gave you absolute power over this topic, nor am I aware that you have the power to read my mind. Just because I do not subscribe to your option, that does not mean I am against bringing the troops home. And you, sir, are being blind to the facts. Again, I remind you that I voted AGAINST the war in Iraq--went against a sitting president of my own party--but the reality is we are there now. I agree, we were misled into Iraq. There were no weapons of mass destruction, no connection between Saddam Hussein and any terrorist organization. That is why I voted against the war in the first place. But you cannot tell me that these insurgents are entirely comprised of "patriotic Iraqis" who want to kill their occupiers. We left Iraq vulnerable when we invaded. It is now a haven for every nutjob terrorist group with a grudge. If we leave now, we leave a vulnerable country.

In the 1980's, we funded a rebel group in Afghanistan, and in particular a rebel leader, because they were fighting the Soviet Union. We operated on the tenet that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We left them to their own devices. That group became the Taliban and that rebel leader was Osama bin Ladin. Senator Dalo, I will not let this country be responsible for the rise of another Osama bin Ladin. I saw first hand the result of our action--or inaction--in Afghanistan in the 80's. I stood at the Mouth of Hell on September 12th, 2001. My father was lucky--he escaped from the World Trade Center with his life. Others weren't. I will not let that happen again.

And might I suggest, Senator, that the reason why you're doing so poorly in the primaries is because, instead of discussing the issues, you choose to take potshots much like the ones you're taking at Governor Johnson. And I will echo Senator Hart's question--if you claim to represent the majority of voters in the Democratic Party, then why are you doing so poorly?

I could not agree more. This is about fixing the present, because we cannot change the past. Nobody would have went into Iraq now, but everybody knows that the best way to finish the war right is not to withdraw our troops.

My Fellow Democrats,

I would just like to point out that the Democratic party is so vaguely grouped that it probably should no longer be one party. (((Going solely on principle and ignoring the efficiency to both the political tide of the government and of the people of our primarily two-party split.))) 07388820.gif Our faction spans from the socially conservative to the ultra social liberals and from the economic conservatives to the economically liberal and somewhere and everywhere in between. The party is made up of practical centrists and socialists, but that's where the strength of the Democratic party is spawned, from diversity.

(((For the record, I appologize if I seem a bit out of the loop, its the first post I've had in here in almost a year. I had an old account, but I suppose that makes no difference as of now and I need to reestablish a position... in a different party as before even. I'd like to think I've been missed though I know that I haven't.)))

Psst. You're a royal nOOb!

But anyways, yeah, well, I'm hardly scared of a virtual firing squad, Ma'am.

Is anyone else active in here, btw? I really liked this sim and it seems to have died.
