A BILL

To permanently repeal the USA PATRIOT ACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Patriot Act Repeal.'

SECTION 2. FINDINGS.

1) The USA PATRIOT ACT has been found to violate countless Civil Liberties and has caused the citizens of the United States of America to compromise certain rights granted by the United States Constitution, namely those rights granted by the following Constitutional Amendments:
(a) First Amendment
(B) Fourth Amendment
� Fifth Amendment
(d) Sixth Amendment
(e) Eighth Amendment
(f) Fourteenth Amendment

2) The USA PATRIOT ACT was passed in haste without proper judgment.

3) The USA PATRIOT ACT is a gross misnomer as it actually violations civil liberties, which is anything but patriotic.

4) The USA PATRIOT ACT is an extensive piece of legislation which is not written in a way so that all Americans can understand what it does.

SECTION 3. USA PATRIOT ACT REPEAL.

1) Public Law Number 107-56, the USAPATRIOT Act, is hereby repealed, effective immediately. The creation or reorganization of certain federal agencies shall not be affected by this repeal.

2) In US Code Title 18, section 241 Conspiracy Against Rights the words 'ten years' shall be replaced with 'thirty years'.

3) In US Code Title 18, section 241 Conspiracy Against Rights the words ', torture or an attempt to commit torture,' shall be inserted after 'attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse'.

SECTION 4. ENACTMENT CLAUSE.

This bill shall take effect immediately upon passage.
