Mr. Chair,
I would like to note that Mecca and Medina are the spirital centers of Islam. Jerusalem may be the third important center to Islam. Other than that, I endorse this amendment. I yield |

Mr. Chair,
I do not see why these two preceding gentlemen exhibit such terrible ignorance of Islam. Despite my disagreeings with the religion, at least I took the time to examine it and study it. Ask any Muslim and they will tell you the three holiest sites in Islam are, in order, Mecca, Medina, and then Jerusalem. Jerusalem is a spiritual center of Islam, not the spiritual center. The ignorance is shocking. I yield the floor. |

Mr. Brooks and Mr. Schmidt,
Is the UC motion on the correction of the amendment or the amendment itslef? I ask because the Gentleman from Michigan would seem to be opposed to the first degree amendment. I took the second degree amendment as friendly and thus uncontestable. I ask in the interest of clarity. Thank you. |

Mr. Chairman,
I am assuming the second degree amendment as well. The gentleman should clarify as well. Thank you. I yield. |
