Mr. Hanscom (for himself, Mr. Carpenter, Mr. Fernandez, Mr. Garwood, Mr. Johns, Mr. Laverone, Mr. Lindsay, Mr. Martin, Mr. Messer, Mr. Palafox, Mr. Price, Mr. Smith and Mr. Thayer) introduced the following bill

A BILL

To require voters to present idenitification before voting in any election in the United States or her territories, in order to stem voter fraud.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE

Thist Act may be cited as the 'Voter ID and Signature Requirement Act'.

SECTION 2. DEFINITION

For the purposes of this bill, 'photo ID' is equivalent to a state driver's license or state identification card.

SECTION 3. VOTER ID AND SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS

(a) In all elections within the United States of America and her territories, federal, statewide, local or otherwise, voters are required to present a photo ID or their original voter registration card to prove that they are the person they claim to represent at their voting precinct.

( After presenting said ID, they must sign next to their name, affirming again that they are the person they claim to represent.

Both tasks must be performed in front of authorized poll workers, with their status designated by the state or county authorities that run and oversee elections in the respective States.

SECTION 4. VIOLATIONS

Poll workers and those authorities in the States and counties in charge of elections who allow these policies to be broken will be subject to no less than a one-year sentence and no more than a ten-year sentence in federal or state prison.

SECTION 5. ENACTMENT

The policies laid out in this bill will go into effect immediately after the signing of this bill by the President of the United States or an overturning of his veto by two-thirds of both houses of Congress.
