Daniel Pearson presents, for himself the following amendment to the rules of AGS
Article III, Section 2 of the AGS shall be amended to read the following: . Party Creation and Dissolution a. Additional parties may be formed via a petition to the House consisting the higher number of the following: 1) a number of petitioners equal to or greater than 15% of the total membership at the time of the most recent Roll Call, or 2) a total of 15 petitioners 3) a signature may be considered valid only if the Representative signed into the most recent Roll Call. b. All those signing a petition for a new party must join within ten (10) days of the party's creation. c. Parties are dissolved if the party's membership comprises less than 5% of the total number of Representatives responding to Roll Call, or if the party should choose to dissolve in a manner consistent with their party rules. |

I'm pretty sure that we've already tried this bill this term and it failed in committee.
So, its out of order to consider it until next session. |

Piazza's right. We did, it failed.
I'd suggest to anyone who's going to re-introduce it for next session to raise the 5% thingy. That's what rallied most of the opposition to this last time around, and in view of current membership numbers it's ridiculously low, really. By the same token, 15 petitioners is probably too high a number now. |

What are our membership numbers? I pulled 5% out of my ass last time, so I'd like to know the numbers fo I can figure out a proper %.

Daniel,
64 House members signed the most recent Roll Call. Figure in maybe 10 more or so have joined since, so around 75 would be a rough guesstimate. 5% was a reasonable number in the past, but as you can see now it would mean a party with just 4 people in it would be allowed to continue, and that's kinda silly. |
